We hosted this event on October 28, 2021 at Hotel Indigo Club Rialto. We had 75 or more attendees. Our Tango Bootcamp was in the first hour of the event was very well attended. We had 30 people (15 couples) learn basics of Tango and all of them stayed for the social dancing. The age range was from 18 – 80!
Athens Tango Project gave a live performance of their tango songs for tango social dancing portion. There were three segments of tango music. We used DJ music for the salsa and merengue dancing. The event was based on Tanda formation which is three songs of each genre.
After the second tanda of Tango music, we had a performance by Athens Tangueros. Stephanie and Fuad, the organizers of the event, performed Tango for the audience. See video of the performance. Next

We received so much positive feedback because this was one of the first live dance events since COVID began. People really missed dancing. EVERY single person was masked and we never had to ask anyone. The dance community is very respectful in Athens, GA.
